Life's changes can come suddenly and can be gradual. Transitioning into those changes requires altering our mindset to accept our new reality and thrive. High school students, first-year college students, and career professionals have to adjust to the changes in their daily routines. Navigating those changes sometimes requires professional guidance to prepare us for the road ahead.

Our Services

Individualized Coaching
The decision to select the right college, university, and career pathway requires obtaining the best guidance possible. Moving from living at home to living on campus comes with challenges. I want to help parents and students prepare for a seamless transition to their first college experience. Twenty-five percent of first-year students who are not prepared for the demands of college, drop out. Thirty-five percent do not return to the same college (Clayborn, 2023). The top three reasons for dropping out were financial, poor academic performance, and personal issues. I understand the challenges students face navigating their coursework and graduating on time.
Clayborn, C. (2023, February 23). How to avoid dropping out of college. U.S. News & World Report. Retrieved from https://www.usnews.com/education/best-colleges/articles/dropping-out-of-college-why-students-do-so-and-how-to-avoid-it

Self-Direction Support Broker Services
I have been a bilingual Independent Support Broker since 2020 serving individuals and their families to make informed decisions regarding their services and control over their OPWDD (NYS Office for People with Developmental Disabilities) approved Self-Direction budgets. For additional information about Self-Direction services, please visit the OPWDD website.
Currently, I am no longer providing Support Broker services. If you are looking for an Independent Support Broker, I do have a list of questions parents can use to interview prospective Support Brokers.
First-Year Experience Coaching
Proper Planning Prevents Poor Performance
Most high school college advisors provide students and their families with cursory information about the college experience. Parents and students alike rely on their knowledge and the information provided by colleges during the recruitment process. A successful transition to a college or university environment begins with proper planning.
Each client receives a thorough assessment of their strengths, career interests, and personalized goals. I use an integrative approach to goal setting that incorporates every facet of the client's life in alignment with the desired goals.
